Who we are
ako.tools is operated by Huskee Limited, Flat 3, Westminster Court, Aberdeen Place, London NW8 8JL ("ako.tools", "we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. This policy covers ako.tools (the website and the sign-in, dashboard and account pages), api.ako.tools (the REST API and the MCP servers), the earlier buyeros.ai addresses that now lead to them, and our managed service enquiries.
Contact us about privacy at [email protected].
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account data: your email address and name, when you sign in. We sign you in with a one-time emailed link, so we hold no password.
- Agent access data: the name you give an agent, the permissions you grant it, and hashed API keys and access tokens. We cannot read a key after it is created.
- Brand and audit data: the websites and brand names you submit, the brand profile and competitor list we derive from your public website, the buyer questions we generate or you add, the answers AI models return, and the scores, citations, competitors and recommended actions we compute from them.
- Technical audit data: the public pages we fetch from the websites you ask us to audit, and what we measure on them. Where a page is rendered in a browser, optional compressed evidence is stored privately.
- Billing data: your credit balance, a ledger of top-ups, free credit, charges and refunds, and your Stripe checkout session reference. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us.
- Technical data: IP address, request logs and basic device information, kept for security, rate limiting and diagnosing faults.
How we use it
We use your data to:
- provide the service: sign you in, run audits, show results and take payment;
- keep it safe and fair: prevent abuse, enforce usage and spending limits, and investigate faults;
- keep records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records;
- contact you about your account, security or changes to these documents.
Legal bases
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on: performing our contract with you (running the service you ask for); our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving reliability), which we balance against your rights; legal obligations (tax and payment records); and consent where we ask for it.
Our crawler
Audits fetch public web pages from the websites you ask us to audit. The crawler identifies itself as AkoToolsAudit and respects robots.txt for those pages. Site owners can block it there or contact us to opt out.
International transfers
Our hosting and some providers are in the United States. Where UK or EU data is transferred there, we rely on the provider’s adequacy or standard contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep account, brand and audit data while your account is open, so you can compare audits over time. Raw model request and response records are kept privately for diagnosis and billing disputes. Payment and ledger records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. When you ask us to delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we must keep.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to our use of it, and to withdraw consent. Email [email protected] and we will respond within a month. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. There is no self-serve deletion yet; we process requests by email.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. We store API keys and tokens only as hashes, limit each agent to the permissions you grant it and let you revoke access at any time on the agents page. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you think an account or key has been compromised.
Children
ako.tools is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. For material changes we will also tell account holders by email.
